Updates to Password Manager Plans & Subscriptions
Loyal customers benefit from all the most current and advanced features in Bitwarden Password Manager. Beginning November 6, 2023, with new product updates, customers automatically receive the latest features, giving them increased efficiency, security, and productivity.
This article details prior Bitwarden Password Manager subscriptions. You can identify what plan you're on via the Billing > Subscription page or by looking at the description in your most recent invoice.
If you purchased a subscription on or after November 6, 2023, refer to the Password Manager Plans article.
If you have a 2019 Enterprise Org. subscription., you will be automatically upgraded on November 6, 2023 to include access to all features that current Enterprise subscriptions have access to, including login with SSO, SCIM provisioning, and account recovery administration. Your subscription and seat price remains the same for existing users as well as new users added to your organization.
If you have a 2019 Teams Org. subscription, you will be automatically updated on November 6, 2023, to include access to all features that current Teams subscriptions have access to, including groups, event logs, and Duo for organizations. Your subscription and seat price remains the same for existing users as well as new users added to your organization.
If you have a 2019 Families Org. subscription, you will not be automatically moved to a new feature set at this time. As a 2019 Families Org., upgrading to a current Families Org. subscription will:
Increase the number of users you can share with from 5 to 6.
Unlock Premium features like advanced 2FA options, TOTP generation, file attachments, and emergency access for all members. Under 2019 Families Org. subscriptions, features like TOTP generation and attachments are available for organization-owned items, but only for individually-owned items if you also purchase Premium for each member.
This means that, at $40/year, current Families Organizations are cheaper than the equivalent $52/year for a Families Organization and Premium for all users.
If you have a 2020 Enterprise Org. subscription, our feature set and price remain the same and you will continue to be billed at the price you originally procured your subscription for. New seats added will also be billed at the same price.
If you have a 2020 Teams Org. subscription, our feature set and price remain the same and you will continue to be billed at the price you originally procured your subscription for. New seats added will also be billed at the same price.
The Teams Starter plan has been removed as an option for new organization creation as of June 11, 2024. If you are already a Teams Starter customer, your feature set and price remain the same and you will continue to be billed at the price you originally procured your subscription for.
Q: When will the price increase take place?
A: The price increase will take place on November 6, 2023. This increase does not impact current customers.
Q: What upgrade is happening on November 6?
A: All 2019 Teams and Enterprise Bitwarden Password Manager subscriptions are being automatically upgraded to the most current feature set. Their price will remain the same.
Q: How will this impact new customers?
A: New customers that purchase a Bitwarden Password Manager Teams or Enterprise subscription on or after November 6, 2023 will pay the current list price.
Q: How will this impact existing customers?
A: Existing customers that purchased Bitwarden Teams or Enterprise subscription prior to November 6, 2023, will continue with the original price.
Q: What new features are 2019 Teams and Enterprise plan customers getting?
A: Customers will receive the latest features at the same price:
