Removing Items from your Organization
Whether you're cleaning up old records, deleting duplicates, or mistakenly shared an item meant for personal use, Bitwarden offers several ways to ensure your vaults remain clutter-free.
Log in to your Bitwarden account
Navigate to the item you wish to remove
Select the item by clicking on it (in some clients, you may want to click on View) to open the details view.
Click Delete.
A confirmation prompt will appear, asking you if you really want to send the item to the Trash. Take a moment to review and make sure you're removing the correct item.
Finally, click Yes to confirm and delete the item.
Note: Only members with admin permissions can move items from the Organization vault back to their personal vaults.
From the Web vault, click on the 9 box menu next to your profile icon in the top right and select Admin Console
Navigate to the item you wish to move
Click on
Options, and select CloneIn the new Item window that appears, change Ownership from the Organization vault to your email (ex. johnsmith@company.com)
Click Save and the copy will be saved to My vault
Return to the original item in Organizations > Vault
Click on
Options, and click DeleteA confirmation prompt will appear, asking you if you really want to send the item to the Trash. Take a moment to review and make sure you're removing the correct item.
Finally, click Yes to confirm and delete the item.
Deleted items remain in Trash for 30 days before being permanently deleted. To permanently delete the item before the 30 days:
Go to Trash
Navigate to the item you wish to permanently delete
Click on
Options, and select Permanently deleteA confirmation prompt will appear, click Yes to confirm you want to permanently delete this item.
